Positive Awareness Begins with Us

In between seasons is a great moment for self-reflection, don’t you think? We have this wonderful life to live, and for many of us, our goals include giving back to the world in fulfilling ways. I tend to get involved with community efforts that speak to me personally. One of those efforts is a new collaboration with a North Dakota-based company, Create Light Co., an organization that brings positive awareness to mental health through wearable, artful clothing.

I’m a big advocate of acceptance and openness when it comes to emotions. Through my passion for the abstract expressionist painting style, I realized that although I struggled like many others, I could best process these emotions through creativity itself. I then learned how to convey myself through the language of color, texture, scale, and brushstrokes. This particular life experience motivated me to collaborate with Create Light.

I’m happy to have volunteered my time and artwork for this cause because

I believe in what

I HEAR YOU

“I’m so happy that I was able to connect with Jessica this year! She is an incredibly talented artist with such a fierce drive and passion. Collaborating with her on this launch has been nothing short of amazing, and I’m grateful for her generous donation and continued support through this entire process. She puts an immense amount of thought and work into each piece of art, and I’m happy that she is willing to use her gift to open up a conversation about mental health. We want to emphasize how important it is for everyone to be heard.”

what we offer…

T-SHIRTS AND CREWNECK SWEATSHIRTS

What’s also great is that all items are unisex and available in youth and adult sizes

Ten percent of each sale will be donated to the suicide prevention and mental health education organization Hope for the Day.

I included kids' apparel because mental health awareness is something everyone can talk about. I welcome conversations about emotions and sharing that knowledge with children as a two-way street. Knowledge is so powerful, and kids are always open to learning more from the adults in their lives. Kids inspire me, for they seem to often live in a more free and truthful way. So we as adults have a lot to learn from our youth, for they are our future.

The phrase “I hear you” alongside my artwork on the Create Light clothing is significant because we all want to be heard with a loving, open heart and without judgment rather an open mind. If this message resonates with you, I invite you to view my creation and support this wonderful cause to shed light on the importance of mental health awareness.

Cheers,
